Another delicious dessert. This was a painting I was afraid would not turn out to my satisfaction. I am pleased to say that from the moment I started it today, the painting was to my liking and I could not stop till it was finished. Some days are meant to spend painting.

This is another State Fair entry. I knew when I was doing the daily paintings of cheese and grapes that I would eventually want to put them together. I am happy that I finished both pieces. Now hoping they will be dry enough to deliver!

This is a State Fair entry. This years theme is "year of the tomatoes". I had to participate since I love tomatoes so much!. Definitely a challenge since it is so much larger than my usual pieces.

This was a delicious dessert from Ghyslain Chocolatier. I had a hard time deciding on which to get because they were all small works of art in themselves. I do have more to paint (I could never stop at one). Since I don't think I will ever become a pastry chef (something I had always thought I would love), I will have to be satisfied trying to capture them in a painting (and eating them, of course).

one of my favorite snacks - cheese and crackers. I have to admit, I had great fun painting the Ritz Cracker. I have some other "cheese" related pieces in the works. Not easy to paint, but I found some wonderful types. Must give them a try (painting and eating them).

I have completed several paintings of red grapes, but have not tried painting white grapes. I really liked the way other colors are present if you look closely. Tomorrow, I have a pairing for the grapes... wait and see one of my favorite snacks!

I have discovered that although I like painting toys/games, I miss painting foods. I still have alot of ideas for paintings of foods in my head, so I finally decided that I would continue painting every day and not limit myself to a particular "theme". It feels like a weight has been lifted and now I am enjoying the process of painting again! I still have several toys that I would like to paint, but also have several foods. Now I get to choose what I'm in the "mood" for, not what fits into a theme. I seemed to forget until now that I need to enjoy what I am doing and not feel like I was required to do something. Although I like to try new things, sometimes I think artists push ourselves to learn and try new things. Purely enjoying the experience of painting is enough for me right now. I'm sure I will learn more along the way (daily painting has already taught me so much) but I won't burden myself with boundaries anymore.

This farmer is really busy during the series! I think he will take a break as I have other antique toys prepped for a few days. Life is busy this week, so I hope to still be able to do a painting each day. I really miss it when I don't get in to do one. I find I think about it often during my busiest days and then I do enjoy the time once I finally get in and sit down. There is something to say about having a studio outside of the home, but hard to take care of things at home if I'm not here. Never able to win?!
