 6x6 oil on panel
I really enjoyed doing this one. First of all, the bloom was on my plant and the way it looked in front of my dining room wall begged to be painted. Second, I used a gessoed board and love the smooth surface. Third, I used glazing to build up the color and still see underlayers. Overall, I am really pleased with this one.

 colored pencil in progress #1
This is the newest in progress piece. Hope to have it finished and more to show soon. I cannot believe the detail I can see reflected in the chrome. I am thinking I want to try this one in oil (may have to crop it so I can complete it in my lifetime) and see if I can layer the oils similar to layering the colored pencil. I want to develop the richness some more of the colored pencil, then will start working with the OMS and see what effect that gives me as well.

 13X18 colored pencil
I had alot of fun with this one, although I still think I would like to work on it some more. Why is it I never feel quite finished? I think that is something I need to work on more - knowing when to stop. This piece was the first that I used Odorless Mineral Spirits as a blending agent and was very pleased with the results. It seemed to help the color become more vibrant and darkened some values for me. I will definitely be using more of this technique in the future.
